Secret hotels are becoming continuously more popular, and with that more travel providers are providing opaque booking offers. Generally, all the travel agents disclose the star rating for every property and a paragraph on the location and features so you can make an informed decision as to whether the property is for you. Lastminute also utilise Google Maps for each listing, with a marked out zone of where the establishment is found. It’s also worth noting that often the title of the secret hotel will make an allusion to where it’s situated. For example Hotwire display their secret hot rate hotels under a name explicitly connected to a neighbourhood or monument.
So why do these establishments select to list anonymously? The hotels and resorts in the secret hotel collection are often four or five stars, and as a consequence do not wish to reduce their guest rooms in the public domain. They therefore list without stating their name, so that they are able to keep their rooms full without guests waiting for cut prices before they book. The secret hotels construct ensures both the guest and the hotel are happy.
